Stories From Our Community
Submission By: Elisha Greenleaf - “Coming Home…”
“Somewhere in those years, I realized something devastating and freeing at the same time:
The house was never actually creating the safety.
It was teaching me how to create safety within myself.
For the first time in my life, my nervous system began to unwind. Not perfectly, but enough.
Enough to rest. Enough to breathe deeper. Enough to stop bracing for impact every second of the day.”

“One thing I didn’t realize at sixteen when I left was how much creativity existed here in Phoenix, how many artists and entrepreneurs make this city their home and love collaborating. We are social beings, and while writing is often done solo, some of my favorite communities are storytelling and writers’ communities where I get to meet people practicing their craft and having endless fun doing it.”
Submission By: Brielle Bethune - “Founder & Creator”
“Brielle’s journey began as a content creator, influencer and social media manager for various brands both local and global, where she developed a love for digital storytelling and community building. Through hands-on experience growing a local platform of AZFOMO with millions of views, as well as ongoing education, she’s become an expert in crafting campaigns that are not only beautiful but also data-driven and results-focused.”
Submission By: Deirdre Egan - “Arizona Alchemy”
“The summer furnace of Phoenix has altered me in ways I could not predict. An old school alchemical transformation of lead into gold? Perhaps…but not quite so extreme. I have come to believe I have transformed here more like a ceramic vessel, formed from the surrounding clay, pressed into my figure and fired in the desert kiln along with a mosaic of fragments of city, land, sky, people and spirits of this place.”
